PDRN has become one of the most searched-for ingredients in Korean skincare. Here's what it is and how to use it, without exaggerated promises.
What is PDRN?
PDRN stands for polydeoxyribonucleotide: purified DNA fragments used in skincare serums and creams for their hydrating, lightweight feel.
In a serum it's usually paired with hyaluronic acid so skin feels plumper, softer and more radiant.
How to use it
- Apply 3 or 4 drops to clean skin, morning and night.
- Seal with your moisturizer.
- During the day, finish with sunscreen.
What to pair it with?
It works well with niacinamide, ceramides, peptides and sunscreen. If you use retinol or acids, alternate nights so you don't overload your skin.
As with any ingredient, consistency matters more than quantity. Give it several weeks and compare using photos taken in the same light.
